Deep Dish Dungeon Roots: Find the Axe and Cut Through

At a glance

Use an Axe to cut roots. Look for the Axe on a low stone plinth in the vegetation-filled cave, equip it and keep striking the root until its durability runs out.

Recognize the Axe pickup

In the vegetation-filled cave, check the low stone plinth for an Axe lying flat on top. Aim at it and use your displayed pickup interaction. Confirm that the Axe has entered your inventory or hotbar before leaving.

Cut the root

  1. Select the Axe in your hotbar.
  2. Aim at the root and attack repeatedly.
  3. Watch the root’s durability decrease. Pause to recover stamina when necessary.
  4. Continue until the root breaks and disappears.

The cleared root can leave Sticks and Wood Planks on the ground. Collect the drops before moving through the opening.

Use the right tool for nearby obstacles

Roots take the Axe. A rusty grate takes the Hammer, while a yellow goo pile takes the Pickaxe. Identify the obstacle before spending durability on it.
